Psychotherapy & Mindfulness
A warm, accepting space for professionals and growth-oriented individuals to explore the layers of their experience — and live more authentically.
About Juan
"Each layer pointed to whole new worlds — and each world led to sensitivities that allowed me to relate better to myself, others, and the world."
While pursuing graduate studies in educational psychology at the University of Florida, Juan began meditating daily and entered his own personal psychotherapy. In that process, he discovered that there were numerous layers within that had never been fully experienced — each pointing to whole new worlds.
That discovery became his mission: to help people relate to their experience in ways that bring about more happiness, success, and satisfaction. With over 15 years dedicated to integrating Eastern and Western approaches to healing, Juan brings a rare depth to the therapeutic relationship.
His path has included two master's degrees in psychology — including studies at the California Institute of Integral Studies — more than a decade of immersion in the psychology of mindfulness, and becoming an ordained monk in the tradition of Japanese Zen. He has also practiced Vipassana meditation extensively, and has taught meditation in clinical settings for over 12 years — an extraordinary foundation for understanding how the best of both worlds can serve his clients' healing.
Juan's approach is direct, fast, and effective. He is strongly influenced by object relations theory, somatic awareness, and the growing body of research — over 500 academic papers published annually — showing how mindfulness treats anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic pain, and more.

My Approach
At the core of Juan's practice is a belief in the transformative power of the therapeutic relationship. Influenced by object relations theory, he works with the deep patterns formed in early life — patterns that shape how we relate to ourselves and others — and gently brings them into awareness within a safe, attuned relationship.
More than 500 academic papers per year now validate what contemplative traditions have known for centuries: paying close attention to our present experience is fundamental to emotional resilience. Juan integrates mindfulness and somatic approaches so that clients develop the capacity to welcome their experience — and find healing within it.
As an ordained monk in the tradition of Japanese Zen, a dedicated Vipassana practitioner, and someone who has taught meditation in clinical settings for over 12 years, Juan brings a rare experiential depth to his work. This is not theory — it is lived understanding, translated directly into the therapeutic relationship.
Juan's approach is warm and deeply relational, and also direct and results-oriented. He integrates mainstream psychological approaches with mindfulness, somatic work, and deep relational attunement — drawing on a decade of academic training and a decade of contemplative immersion to offer something genuinely integrative.
